St Nicholas U12  boys got off to a flying start to the season with a 3-1 win over Rockleaze Rangers.

St Nick’s dominated from start to finish and should have won by a greater margin but they found the Rockleaze keeper in fine form.

Kodey Knight eventually broke the deadlock to give St Nicks a 1-0 lead at the break. The second half started much as the first had ended with St Nicks in control but a rare attack from Rockleaze resulted in St Nicks giving away a free kick on the edge of the area. A well-taken set piece levelled the score; however Matthew Puddy put St Nicks back in front just minutes later.

The rest of the game played out in much the same fashion before Haydn Frost rounded off the scoring with a third St. Nick’s goal.

St Nick’s dominated the game and played some flowing football with excellent passing and good individual skills.  Ellis Cooper on his club debut capped a fine performance with the player of the match award.
