VOLUNTEER Centre Yate has invited anyone who is interested in using their spare time to help others to call into its drop-in sessions.

VOLUNTEER Centre Yate has invited anyone who is interested in using their spare time to help others to call into its drop-in sessions.

The centre, next to the library in Yate Shopping Centre, serves not only the town but also neighbouring Chipping Sodbury and the surrounding locality

It matches volunteers up with suitable roles and helps local groups recruit people to do voluntary work.

Co-ordinator Carole Zorzo said: “If people are not too sure what kind of role they’d like, our volunteer advisors can help them look at the different options available.

“If they want us to refer them to a specific group or voluntary organisation, we can do that too and we’ll keep in touch to make sure their first steps into volunteering are good ones.”

The centre is open every Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 10am-noon. It can also be contacted by emailing carole@volunteercentreyate.org.uk, visiting its website at www.volunteeryate.org.uk or by phoning 01454 324102.
