Yate coffee shop supports hunger campaign
Esquires Coffee shop in Yate has held its first Big Community Day to collect food donations for Yate and Chipping Sodbury Foodbank.
There were so many items that a collection had to be arranged half way through the day to make more space.
The foodbank runs a ‘holiday hunger’ service to help families whose children would normally have free school meals. It gives lunch items to children during the long summer holidays.
Dean Widge, Owner of Esquires Coffee Yate said: “Yate and Chipping Sodbury Foodbank gave 2,086 three-day emergency food supplies to people in crisis last year, so we are really pleased to be able to contribute to such a worthy cause which is relied on by people in our local community.”
