Yate man charged over Bristol hotel assault

A YATE man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent to another man at a Bristol hotel.

Daniel Service, aged 27, was due to appear in court today in connection with an incident at the Mercure Bristol Brigstow Hotel, on Welsh Back in Bristol city centre (above).

A 24-year-old man is currently in hospital in what police describe as a "critical but stable" condition after the incident, which happened on Sunday, January 27.

Service was due before Bristol Magistrates Court today, having been in police custody overnight.

A 30-year-old woman, Kimberley O'Driscoll, of no fixed address, was charged with the same offence yesterday in relation to the alleged assault.

She has been released on bail until her next court appearance.
