Yate drug dealer caught with 3 kilos of cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis
A YATE drug dealer has been jailed after being found with drugs worth £90,000 on the street.
Police from the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit raided Sean Mortell's home in Milton Road on October 3.
Inside they found 500g of cocaine behind a kickboard in the kitchen and £3,500 in cash stashed in cupboards.
A further 2kg of cannabis bush was found in his van and police also discovered keys to a lock-up on Mayshill, where 500g of MDMA, better known as ecstasy, was hidden.
This week Mortell was sentenced to five years and four months in prison after pleading guilty to charges of possessing cocaine, MDMA and cannabis with intent to supply.
The 39-year-old also admitted possession of criminal property at Bristol Crown Court.
Detective Inspector Charlotte Tucker from the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit said: “Sean Mortell was clearly making big profits, with drugs worth around £90,000 on the street as well as £3,500 cash seized in one warrant.
“His sentence will hopefully be welcomed by people in Yate and serve as another example of the work going on to ensure the likes of Mortell are caught.”
