Yate neighbours win lottery windfall
EIGHT residents of a street in Yate have won a cash windfall of £1,000 each in a fundraising lottery.
The residents of Woodmancote, off St Briavels Drive, landed the windfall when BS37 4LL was announced as a People’s Postcode Lottery winner today.
People's Postcode Lottery is a subscription lottery which raises money for charities.
Players sign up, enter their postcode and pay £10 per month to take part.
They are automatically entered into a draw every day of the month, ranging from £10 to a share in a £3 million monthly draw.
There are £1,000 daily jackpots, such as the one won by the Woodmancote residents.
A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised over £500 million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.
They include Postcode Animal Trust, which provides funding to charities promoting animal welfare and conservation and promoted today’s draw.
People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt sent her well wishes and said: “A big congratulations to all those who have picked up a prize today.
“I hope the win will help lift their spirits and I hope they are able to treat themselves to something special with the cash.”
