AN annual quiz which has raised thousands of pounds for charity is about to be held again in Yate.

AN annual quiz which has raised thousands of pounds for charity is about to be held again in Yate.
The event was started by Yate Rotary Club in 2010, when a dozen teams tested their general knowledge in Chipping Sodbury Town Hall.
Since then it has expanded and moved to Yate International Academy, where last year a total of 22 teams took part.
It resulted in another success for The Wanderers, who won for the fourth time and received the Yate Rotary Trophy Shield from club president Mike Gauntlett.
So far the event has brought in more than £3,000 for charities supported by Rotary, a figure that will be boosted at the next quiz night on Thursday, February 11. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
Teams of four are needed, with the entrance fee of £24 per team to include a ploughman’s supper.
There will also be a licenced bar run by the club during the evening. For more details, phone Brian Hamling on 01454 324139.
