Yate students shine in community challenge
Students from Brimsham Green have come second in a community apprentice programme.
The 12-week scheme, run by youth Charity Envision and backed by the Careers and Enterprise Company, sets school students the challenge of making a difference in the community.
The charity Caring in Bristol was chosen by the Brimsham students who raised over £600.
At a fundraising day at Highways England, the students carried out a cake sale and challenged staff to select a theme and build something from Lego in four minutes.
The students also hosted a BBQ during lunchtime at school on the hottest day of the year selling over 150 burgers and sausages.
The students also had to give a presentation to businesses on how they have progressed within the programme and the project culminated in a boardroom challenge.
