A NEW library has been opened at Rangeworthy Primary School with the help of Yate and Chipping Sodbury Rotary clubs.
They each gave £500 towards the £2,500 project, which involved transforming an old storeroom into the school’s new facility.
As well as books, there is also new equipment and furniture, a computer area and seated work section.
Head teacher Janet Dickson said: “Before the new library opened, the children couldn’t really access the books as the storeroom wasn’t organised like a library.
“Now they are all organised in categories and children can come in and look up books and make their choice. It has been quite a major project.”
John Berridge, of Chipping Sodbury Rotary Club, said: “It is really impressive to see a school take such a good initiative.”
